Srimathi Sundaravalli Memorial School is located in nagappa nagar, Chrompet, Chennai, India.The School follows CBSE standard of education. The school is named after Smt. Sundaravalli, mother of the founder Mr. K. Santhanam. SSM School was inaugurated on 11 June 1986 by the eminent educationist Late Kulapathi Dr. Balakrishna Joshi in the presence of His Holiness Sri Varadha Ethiraja Jeer Swami of Sriperumbudur. This co-ed school, with classes from preschool to 12, and is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The School offers qualitative education blended in right proportion with moral values. The school strives continuously to achieve overall personality of students. Aside from the main school building, another building in Perungalathur is 13 km away from the main building in Chromepet where the preschool students are educated and also has another school named SSM 2 which is for the primary school students. This school celebrated its silver jubilee in 2010. It is connected with Sarada Secondary School. The school also trains the students in fine arts: keyboard, vocal, mridangam, veena, photography, bharatanatyam, violin and arts and crafts. There are four periods in a week for every class in which they are taken to the sports complex for sports and swimming. The swimming pools are the schools own property . There is a wading pool and a large pool of depths ranging from 4 feet to 10 feet.
